Galentine’s Day on Cape Cod: Brunch & Local Businesses I Love!
Last year, I wrote (what I considered to be) a cheeky blog post about Leslie Knope’s famed holiday: Galentine’s Day.
Anywho, this year, I wanted to celebrate the women in my life while also supporting local businesses. I live in a small town on Cape Cod (yes, it’s a real place where people live YEAR ROUND!) and COVID has done a number on some of the best mom and pop shops in the country. So, it was a part of my New Year’s Resolution to shop more locally.
I hopped on Instagram and messaged some of my very favorite local merry makers. Together, we put together a magical afternoon.
Galentine’s Day Guide MUST HAVES:
I believe that a magical event starts with the space. Unfortunately, the 2021 venue options were slim (ya know, pandemic). Enter: my dining room.
Isn’t it amazing how far a $4 table cloth, beautiful flowers, a stunning cake, and balloons go?
The Sparkle: Balloons
While I go into depth in our YouTube video here on where I purchased everything for the table, I will share that it was all inexpensive from Walmart & Home Goods!
I promise to share more about this delicious cake, but the real star of the show? The balloons.
Honestly, my photos (and silly GIFs) are NOT doing it justice on the page, you need to see Briana’s BRILLIANCE in video form!
Bri is the visionary and owner of Elevated Impressions, a Cape Cod based company designed to bring ALL of the magic to your events! She is opening up a shop in The Mashpee Commons soon and I cannot WAIT to see the beauty inside! I love the tablescape balloons because of their whimsy (who doesn’t love a teddy bear balloon friend?!) and the new pomegranate colored heart is both gorgeous AND sophisticated (even when you have paper plates!).
She and her team blew me away with the photo wall and attention to detail, down to the strings attached to the balloons. If you live near or on the Cape, she NEEDS to be a part of your next event!
Oh and a HUGE bonus: ALL of the balloons Bri uses are 100% biodegradable. CRAZY, right?! I hadn’t ever even thought to ask that. These balloons come from rubber trees (this is a thing, Google it!) which are harvested sustainably. I absolutely L-O-V-E that she thought of this when building her brand.
The Sweet Treats
Every good Galentine’s Day event needs a sweet treat, amirite? Hey Sweet Cupcake delivered on this in EVERY possible way.
A beautiful and adorable outside with piped buttercream and a multi-tier raspberry inside that was absolutely delicious! If you saw our holiday video about Tinsel, our Elf on the Shelf, bringing Caleigh a hot cocoa bomb, then you’ve seen Jen’s wizarding work in the kitchen! I could not have asked for a more photogenic (and yummy!) product! If you have baking needs on the Cape, PLEASE reach out to her. She can make anything as customized as you want (and she really is known for her hot cocoa/coffee bombs!).
Add a little champagne, and this is an event ALL your Galentines will want to come to!
Galentine’s Day Extras
Because I’m a little extra at times (shhhh, don’t tell), I also made t-shirts and added some extra flair to to table. You will get an in-depth look at these sprinkles of love in our video, so be sure to watch (and subscribe!).
I hope your Galentine’s Day is full of fun, cake, and (safe) festivities. Sending you ALL the love, ladies!
Oh & PSSSTTT – we used ALL of the leftovers from Galentine’s Day to throw a Disney Princess Tea Party for my “big girls”. Check out this montage here:
