Seasonal Self Care (& Mother’s Day Gift Idea!)

We are 4.5 months into 2019 and it’s time to check in our New Year’s Resolutions! At the beginning of this year, I planned to complete multiple 30 day challenges to give each month a specific focus and to work toward improvement in some way. To be honest, I haven’t FULLY completed 30 straight days of anything, although I have attempted:

  • an ab challenge
  • journaling & lettering
  • consistency in posting to socials
  • decluttering & cleaning challenges

Overall, each of these has “worked” in some capacity. What I’m chalking this up to is some type of self care on a routine and regular basis. And one of my absolute favorite ways to do this is through FabFitFun! #FabFitFunAffiliate

What It Is & How It Works:

I’ve talked about FabFitFun as something I’d love to both give in receive in this early Blogmas post. FFF is essentially tools for a better, more pampered you in a beautifully designed box. Four times per year – once a season – you will receive 8-10 FULL sized products in themed-packaging right to your front door! The cost of this is $49.99, but the box itself is always WAY over that (my boxes have been over $200 each!).

But wait, there’s more!

If you use THIS LINK with the code BEACHBABE you can save $10 off your first box!

What’s In the Box:

If I haven’t convinced you yet, then let me show you what came in my FabFitFun for the Spring season.

Bath Products

Daily Concepts Daily Detox Brush – $18

This little guy is intended to be used as a dry brush before the shower. Some people like to dry brush with an oil, but I’m not quite at that step yet. I use this in large strokes upward on my skin to help exfoliate and allow my bath products to penetrate as deeply as possible!

Self Care: Daily

Manna Kadar Champagne Charcoal Scrub – $34

This JUG of body scrub smells divine and because it isn’t a salt scrub, it gentle on my very sensitive skin. If I dry brush before the shower, shave my legs, and then exfoliate with this, my skin is PRIMED for any lotion that follows directly out of the shower! I like to use this on my décolletage as well. These two products are game changers when it comes to a shower ritual!

Self Care: Scrub

Beauty Products

In a past box, I received the Farmacy Dew It All Total Eye Cream ($50!) and this pairs beautifully with dr. brandt skincare needles no more NO MORE BAGGAGE eye de-puffing gel ($24). This layers on top of your eye cream to reduce your under eye circles. As a toddler mom, I need all the help I can get with this! Perhaps I like this so much because it gives the illusion of self care when I don’t always prioritize it.

Self Care: dr. brandt

OUAI Leave In Conditioner -$26

I knew I loved this line before receiving this product, but I didn’t know I needed this in my life until now. I’m awful about remembering to use a heat protectant (I know, I know! I can hear you yelling at me), so this serves two purposes. I use it after my luxe shower with wet hair, specifically on my ends, and I’ve also been using it LIGHTLY between days with dry hair to refresh my ends. It smells amazing and makes me feel like my hair is clean, even when it isn’t.

Self Care: OUAI

Accessories

Quay My Girl Sunglasses – $55

Even since Jaclyn Hill collaborated with Quay, I’ve wanted a pair from this brand. Yeah, I hear myself. I just love their extra, but wearable designs and these are no different. They fit EVERY face shape. My sister owns them too and we couldn’t be more different stylistically. They come with this dust bag that pinches closed so these will never get scratched in your bag!

Self Care: Quay

Show Me Your Mumu Brie Robe – $84

This is one of my absolute favorite things I’ve ever gotten from FabFitFun. When I was a brand new mom, I LIVED in my bathrobe and began to refer to it as my “wrap dress”. It was not nearly as pretty as this one! A small act of self care is to lounge in something lovely rather than tatty and old.

Self Care: Robe

S’ip by Swell – $19.99

Self Care: Sip

As a teacher, I need portable containers for water. I don’t like fountain water (#firstworldproblems), so I bring my own in from home. I actually own a S’ip water bottle that I bought from Target years ago. What a lovely way to remind myself to stay hydrated – beauty meets function.

Homeware

Giadzy Copper Plated Measuring Spoons – $15

Self Care: Measuring Spoons

Y’all, these came just in time. I literally lost all of my measuring spoons except the tablespoon and was just flat out guessing for other small measurements. I love the color and that these are attached to each other! Like with the water bottle, beauty meets function here and that’s my favorite kind of product!

Conclusion:

If you’ve been keeping up with the math, then you can clearly see the value of this $50 box! The total value of this is $276.94!

My 2019 goals of intentional self care and financial responsibility don’t seem to work together. Self care usually costs money and in attempting to use a budget, I don’t have wiggle room for additional pay outs. BUT with FabFitFun, I get the self care I’m looking for throughout the year for a budget-friendly price. I believe in this product; it’s changed how I take care of myself (and with fancy schmancy things!).

If you’re looking for a gift for yourself or for a woman in your life (hello, Mother’s Day?), this is my pick. If you use THIS LINK with the code BEACHBABE you can save $10 off your first box!

What are you using for self care this season? Have any faves I should look into?

Take care,

C

  1. wow that such good value. So many amazing products

  2. What a great idea for Mother’s Day! And I absolutely love that water bottle. I haven’t completed 30 days of anything, either. I keep trying, even hosting some challenges, but they never last for 30 days. Great post!
